FAQ
Can I join in the fun with my child?
Yes, you can! Throughout the Jungle Journey, parents will be participating with the child at a high frequency. Research has shown that this interaction reinforces a comfortable play environment that is essential for your child to develop efficiently.
As the children progress, the amount of parental interaction will reduce. However, we strongly recommend that parents or guardians are on hand at all sessions to lend support and encouragement to their child.
We are more than happy for you to bring younger siblings to the sessions. They can either stay at side of court in prams, or if they are small enough to be held, then this is also fine. As long as they are adequately supervised and do not run around on the court, it will not be an issue.
Do programs run in all weather?
Jungle Sports sessions are held all your round, but as each session is held indoors, no matter what the weather, the kids will be dry, safe, and have a ball!
What happens if my child wants to swap sports?
One of the unique aspects of Jungle Sports is that the skills learned in our programs are generally transferable across
several sports. This means children can alternate between Jungle
Soccer, Jungle Rugby and Jungle Multi-Sports yet still develop their all
round ability..
What equipment will I need?
Children should be comfortably dressed for play in either shorts and a t-shirt or a tracksuit, and trainers. We also ask that parents come dressed in comfortable clothing and suitable footwear. You may like to bring a drink bottle for your child, but all other equipment will be provided. A special Jungle Uniform can be purchased for $20.
Do you have a free 'come and try' session?
Experience
has taught us that children between the ages 18mth and 5yrs feel a
little insecure coming into a new environment (which is a very normal
process of child development). The purpose of the Jungle Sports is to
gently introduce children into sport. The process of settling in to the
new environment for this young age can take some children a few weeks.
Therefore we believe one trial class is unlikely to show a true
reflection of how your child will go throughout the term.
If we offer free introductory sessions, overcrowding could occur which is detrimental to the already enrolled children and the quality of the session. We stand by our quality, the structure and the number of coaches per session are carefully mapped out before the season starts.
If you are unsure if your child will like it we offer a refund option for enrolled children. We suggest you give it about three weeks, and if after this time the program is not for you, we can refund the remaining weeks of term.
Do the children play 'REAL' soccer / rugby / sports?
Most definitely. At this young age, it is important for children to learn the essential skills and techniques in a fun situation, before they venture into the team sport environment. By enhancing their gross motor skills first, they will have a good head start in their sporting development. The use of indoor futsal balls (smaller and heavier) in the soccer program enhances a child’s control and improves individual techniques. Being indoors ensures the children have less distractions and are better focussed for the entire session.
During the Lion Soccer weekend sessions, the children play
small-sided 1v1 up to 4v4 games to put the skills they have learned into
a team environment.
What is the cost?
You can join Jungle Sports up to 6 weeks into the term depending on availability. You only need to pay for the weeks remaining in the term. To find out how much Jungle Sports is from now, go to our booking pages for the session you would like to attend. A full 9 week term is $145 for all our programs. If you wanted a Jungle Uniform too, it is $165.
Why does Jungle Sports has no Membership fee?
Our members can enjoy the benefits of our own offers and our partners offers and give-aways (Perth Glory, Perth Wildcats, Western Force) without any additional fee. You will also get first opportunities for re-registration from term to term up to 4 weeks prior to the start of term, so that you get you chosen sport and session. Jungle Sports is all about being a family and not a club, which is good enough reason for parents not having to pay to be part of the Jungle Family.
